Yesterday I showed @KAAGent was underperforming and @rscanderlecht was overperforming underlying numbers.

I thought I will show you something interesting in some threads -

This one shows Lokonga's ability, Percy Tau's movement and overall bad defending by @KAAGent

1/x
1st - last matchday game between @KAAGent vs @rscanderlecht

15th min. Lokonga gets the ball in the middle of the park. Percy Tau starts his run. There is huge vacant area near right half space. 2 @KAAGent defenders are marking Nmecha at the edge of the box. Dorsch covering Tau.
2nd - Lokonga rides one challenge and carries ball forward. Gent's LWB still moving slowly to cover the gap. 2 CBs covering Nmecha. Dorsch covering Tau's run.

Remember, in a foot race, Tau will beat almost anyone in the Gent's defence line and Dorsch.
3rd, Lokonga's run drawing Dorsch towards him. Tau is making his run still towards the vacant space which is now almost zone 14. Strangely both CBs still marking Nmecha.
Both @rscanderlecht wingers are free now. Also, no one is marking Tau now at all.
4th, strangely almost half of @KAAGent team is now trying to mark Lokonga! Lokonga is still retaining the ball. Tau is almost entering Zone 14 without anyone marking his run. Gent LWB is now trying to intercept finally. Nmecha has come to support Lokonga, drawing CBs.
This is another view of that above position. It shows how almost 4 players trying to kind of surround Lokonga! Tau is free making his run.
5th, this is moment Lokonga finally releases the pass. He has drawn enough @KAAGent players towards him.

Now the pass goes to Tau who has reached edge of box free from any hinderence.

Tau shoots marginally wide.
This sequence shows how naive @KAAGent defence and midfield behaved. Lokonga was carrying the ball well and his ball retention allowed him to create huge drawing force. Very naively too many Gent players were drawn to him. No one tracked Tau's run.
2 CBs sticking to Nmecha didn't make sense either. LWB from Gent did not make timely run also to close Tau. Tau is really fast and in a race, he will almost always win.

This was to show Tau's movement, Lokonga's ball retention and finally naive defending by @KAAGent
