How did Haringey allow itself to drop to the absolute bottom of the table across London on the delivery of school streets? In addition, where are the borough's protected cycle routes? Where are the low traffic neighbourhoods? When will we phase out pavement parking? https://twitter.com/MumsForLungs/status/1326537340005670913
We want to ask every Councillor in Haringey - what can you do now to turn this around for our borough? Surveys reveal that 8/10 people support measures to reduce road traffic and 2/3 support reallocating road space for walking and cycling. People want change - can you deliver?
We know you are managing very serious issues and challenges in the borough. But this is one of them. Our lack of action to date to reduce car traffic and enable more people to walk and cycle has, and will continue to have, serious health implications for your constituents.
From tackling an inactivity crisis by creating streets where every child/adult can walk/cycle/scoot safely, to improving air quality/reducing damage to vulnerable lungs, there is enormous potential for change. Please step up now to ensure more liveable healthy streets in Haringey
