PSA. It's Diwali tomorrow which is the festival of lights for people of the Hindu faith. It's a very popular festival in multi-cultural cities such as Leicester. But is has a small problem, one symbol of the Hindu faith was hijacked by a hate group. So here's a guide...
The Hindu swastik often has dots inside the symbol (on the left), these are common but don't always appear. The Hindu swastik is usually more stylized and often presented square on. Meanwhile the symbol on the right is almost always presented in black and red and rotated through
45 degrees. The symbol of hate never has the dots on the inside parts. So please if you see this symbol over the weekend please think before acting out against it as it's more likely to be someone's faith.
