I’m sober & I’m not supposed to share that because,

“announcing gives a dopamine hit similar to completion so it works against you”

I get it, I don’t care.

I once bought a standard when I didn’t know how to drive stick, I do things my way.

I’ve had zero cravings & zero regret
If you’re looking to kick the habit, why not start on Friday the 13th?

Maybe something weird will happen & you’ll stick to it this time.

I’ve created a free Telegram group if you’d like to check in & mix it up with other sober individuals: https://gumroad.com/l/kBZsk
Since removing booze, I’ve woken up EVERY morning with a smile.

No matter how my night went, I didn’t drink:

I didn’t fall asleep on the couch.

I did say or do anything stupid.

I didn’t have to piece memories together.

I don’t have to “recover” from cotton-mouth & headache
Taking something away was the greatest gift I’ve ever given myself.

It’s weird but it’s true.

#Sobriety helped me get off the ride of chasing dragons.

Like chasing the next drink, it was always “the next one”

One More will make you happier, funnier, things more interesting..
That “place” booze offered never arrived...

Just like dragons, it wasn’t real.

Alcohol is filled with false promises yet so many men and women are hoping, tonight is the night it comes through and actually delivers.

SPOILER: It won’t
Alcohol doesn’t help you relax, it takes the batteries out of the smoke detector;

You won’t hear it but your house is still burning around you and you’re going to have to deal with that once you sober up,

It gets worse the longer you let it burn...
I’m no “Holier than thou” sober guy, my friends drink and have a great time, I’m not like them or I’d still be drinking.

What I’m sharing is that alcohol has been marketed to us with surgical precision;

We now drink this overly processed liquid, which tastes like shit, daily.
Really think about it.

As kids we hated the taste; it wasn’t until we overrode that alarm & convinced ourselves we “liked it” because we thought we were supposed to in order to fit in & have a good time.

Our body makes us puke it out & feel like death when we consume too much.
The human body is a fine tuned machine, it knows what poison is.

Why do you think it is processed to all hell & literally BILLIONS of dollars are spent on marketing?

There’s no other way we’d be drinking it the way we do if they didn’t hit us with ads 24/7.
They did an amazing job too.

We’ve entertained alcohol with all of life’s events-

We drink alcohol because:

We won
We lost
Funeral
Wedding
Birth
Graduation
Promotion
Fired
Engaged
Nervous
Divorced
Reunion
Sports
Cookout
Bored
Insecure
Stressed
On a date
Vacation
I’m not doing AA or any sort of formal program, in fact I’m not doing anything except not drinking and reading books on the subject.

I will share this personal aspect of the journey...

I will buy myself & my wife a 1 Year Coin when we hit one year & on that day, I will feel it.
I never in my life thought I’d be the guy who could say, “I’m one year sober”, never.

Now, it’s just a matter of time & that day is going to be a very special one for me.

that bit about my wife?

I didn’t ask her to join me, the night I quit she decided to quit also.
