‘Why FORCING people to do what your religion commands you to do is the OPPOSITE of the purpose of religions, and makes it useless’.

Let us use schools as analogy.
Teachers teach students something. Then later tests the student. “Does the student understand?”.
If the student does well in the test, the study process is accomplished well.
The TEST is to measure the student’s understanding.

The TEST is to measure the student’s understanding.
If, during the test, the teacher dictates the student the answers, it isn’t a test. Because no knowledge understanding is being measured in the STUDENT (who just follows the dictation).
And if the student doesn’t feel they need to be measured, they won’t feel the need to learn.
And if the student doesn’t feel they need to be measured, they won’t feel the need to learn.
If they don’t feel the need to learn, they can simply ignore the lessons in the class.
Thus, the study process is NOT accomplished.
The class and the school is useless.

In religion, rules and laws are put in place for 2 things:
1. To help life and living in this world (rules on marriages, on stealing, etc.)
2. To measure your “soul” (if you follow God’s rules, you are deemed righteous, and will go to heaven after you die).
1. To help life and living in this world (rules on marriages, on stealing, etc.)
2. To measure your “soul” (if you follow God’s rules, you are deemed righteous, and will go to heaven after you die).
The 1st rule helps everyone, whether you are good or bad, righteous or sinful. It applies to/for all living things.
The 2nd, helps only THAT person. It is in a lot of ways, more “selfish”. Because if you are righteous, YOU go to heaven. Not... people in your neighbourhood etc.

The 2nd is also the part of religion where each individual is TESTED. If you did well, if you follow God, you will go to heaven.
BUT, like in the school test, it could only measure you if you have the chance of failing. If you are FORCED to do “the right thing”, it’s not a test.

Example: fasting.
You are tested. There is food and drink, but you must not eat or drink. Testing your control and your faith by abstaining.
If the food is removed, then there is no test. You are then FORCED to not eat and drink.
So the practice is thus useless.

Forcing others to abide by religious rules isn’t good for anyone.
If religious teachers want to make the people righteous, TEACH them control. TEACH them to abstain.
Removing the TEST is absolutely pointless.
Makes being religious teachers pointless too
