So some friends and associates have been reaching out to me since it became public knowledge that Ebonyi State Governor Engr Dave Nweze Umahi has ported to the APC , they wanted to know if I would also be associated with APC .

First of , I do not work for Umahi , never did . I am not close to Umahi . In fact the only time we had close contacts was during my stint as the Case Management Pilar Head for the NCDC Rapid Response to COVID 19 when I helped with the response including personnel trainings etc
Let me say clearly that I am not in anyway against Umahi’s preferences , in fact he is well within his rights. I’m sure he weighed his options . The signs were always there though . But it was not any less disappointing to me .
My relationship with Ebonyi State is both personal and work related . I am from Enugu State , Achi precisely . But I did my medical school at Ebonyi State University graduating close to 2 decades ago . Sam Egwu was governor . I aslo worked in the then FMC,later EBSUTH till 2009
So I left Ebonyi long before Umahi arrived as Governor.
However during my recent trip as NCDC personnel I noted Dave was doing a marvelous job of infrastructure upgrade in the state . Before then I was a strong critique . A conversation with gentleman SSG Dr Ugbala opens my eyes

I now took time to put together Dave’s works and it went viral . So many people doubted it like @Ifechideere and @UchePOkoye . I challenged folks to visit Ebonyi with me on my bills to see things for themselves and stream live . @UchePOkoye and others took the bait
I got my NGO Agbaruo Ngene Foundation @ANFNig to sponsor a 5 day guided tour of the state and we covered all the big strides of Umahi . I still respect him and I can always vouch for his superlative performance as a governor especially in Infrastructure and Human Development
But personally I would never work for or with APC . By the ways I have been a card carrying member of PDP since 2003 though not very committed . I contested for Enugu State House of Assembly under same party in 2010 but didn’t get the tickets . In 2015 I didn’t support PDP
Even though I never voted cause I wasn’t in the country then . APC have been in power since 2015 and I can say that this is a much worse experience to me as a Nigerian . APC has surpassed all the inadequacies of PDP and have raised the bar In bad governance.
I’d rather pack my bags and leave this country or just stay on my own than join APC . Yes I am not so hopeful of the PDP as Wike has ruined the party and is set to do worse damage . I foresee an implosion with the struggle for Presidential Ticket of the Party .
If the PDP fails to offer the ticket to a South Easterner I would leave , ANF I would lore people to do so with me . They can move to anywhere but I’d rather just quit than join APC even if they give the ticket to Ojukwu .
The only caveat would be that between now and 2023 APC purges itself of all repressive policies including harassing citizens , attempt at gagging the media and pretentious anti corruption pose . The worst is nepotism . APC is shamelessly pro North .
Umahi can join his darling APC , I wish him well . But going forward I’d paint him with same brush as the rest , they are all wanna be despots . In Ebonyi his biggest critics spoke out about his high handedness . I saw it too , Umahi has hero complex , no one else is smart !
Come 2023 , South East would egg out APC from all the positions they surreptitiously grabbed .
