Hi @jkenney.
My largest client just canceled 3 months of work with me, and several other contractors, because of Covid outbreaks.
Remind me again how keeping everything open is better for the economy. (Hint: it's not.)
I would rather lose 3 weeks' work due to lockdown, than >>
2/ months of little to no work because of Covid exposures & quarantines at my clients' businesses.
Your lack of action is causing harm - not just to people, though I know they don't matter to you, but to businesses. Your claims of "keeping things open is protecting the economy">
3/ is wrong. When businesses are short staffed because of quarantine and infection, they don't operate. It also hurts any businesses that work with that business.
You can lounge at home, in quarantine, & money still goes into your account. For many Albertans, no work means no pay
4/ so when they are forced to quarantine, when they have to stay home because their daycare closed, or their child's school has a outbreak, they lose money. So do the companies they work for.
I'm not sure why you can't comprehend that ripple effect.
I'm not sure you care. >
5/ What I do know, is you & @shandro aren't failing this province We are past that You have already failed.
While you were schmoozing in GP without a mask, doctors, nurses, respiratory techs, paramedics, & other front line staff were wondering where they were going to put that
6/ next patient, trying to find shift coverage for those forced to quarantine due to exposure (and not being successful because too many staff are impacted), & taking a deep breath and soldiering through another short-handed shift, because YOU don't have the balls to deal with
7/ this pandemic and make tough decisions.
You are so worried about the economy, but you fail to realize your inaction has caused harm to the economy.
There's no point in bringing up morbidity & mortality rates, because you already proved you don't care about people.
Those >
8/ numbers, and their impact o families and the economy don't matter to you.
So, in summary, you are a failure, and f*** you and the blue truck you rode in on.
Resign.
