Alito unleashed will make him a hero to more people looking for a leader of the conservative Court — but it also will make people outside of the SCOTUS world realize how he comes off (and it’s not good).
This has been the path Alito has been tip-toeing down since Scalia died, but he always sort of stopped before going all the way there (outside of arguments and opinions). It will be interesting to see, but I don’t see him having the public staying power of Scalia or RBG.
