Unpopular opinion on the 7pm pot banging in support of health care providers: a thread.

The pot banging was a sweet gesture. I get it, you wanted to show how much you appreciated your local health care workers. But it was performative. It was pandemic slacktivism. Do you know what health care really needs right now?

We need you to vote for a political party that values us. We need you to write emails to the ministers, directors, and managers to tell them how you feel. We need you to be PATIENT and KIND while we work out the kinks and changes that occur EVERY DAY.

We need you to demand safe staffing levels. We need you to help our families who are struggling with us being so burnt out when we come home. We need donations to our hospital foundations.

And most of all, we need you to FOLLOW what Dr Henry says and reduce the spread of COVID-19. Be safe, y'all.
