WHAT TO DO AFTER A CAR ACCIDENT

If you drive, accidents are bound to happen. However, if you drive responsibly you can minimize them

Sadly, we can find ourselves in one. So what steps you should you take when it happens.
1. STOP

Stop the car as safely and as soon as you can.

There is no substitute for this. If you encounter hostile crowds or mobs, stop at the nearest police station. But stop.
2. CHECK YOURSELF AND OCCUPANTS FOR INJURIES

If you and/or somebody else is injured seek medical help asap. If you can access the first aid box in your car, then good enough, get the primary medication done.

If not get to the nearest medical centre
3. CALL THE POLICE

We particularly don't like dealing with the police but it's a requirement. Once no one is at risk and everybody is safe contact the police and wait for them
4.TAKE NOTES

Who was driving?
Your car’s details, Insurance & other important details
Plates of the other car, model, license, etc.
Date, time & address of accident

A short & exact brief about the accident, like which direction your car was moving? How the collision took place?
5. DO NOT ENGAGE IN A SHOUTING MATCH.

Do not get indulge in a bad conversation with the other party about the fault or damages.

Call the insurance company and advice them of the incident/accident
6. DO NOT ADMIT ANYTHING

Please remember that you should'nt take the responsibility of the accident even if it was your fault in front of the insurance agent/police

Submit all the proofs to the insurance company. While filing your claim submit all the proofs you have collected
7. ARRANGE FOR TOWING/GETTING HOME

Accidents happen all the time and it's not the end of the world. If you, your occupants and others are safe organise to have your car at the police station as soon as possible.

Have a doctor check you and your occupants for unseen injuries
