How did we get to place where onlyfans, webcam sites, clip sites are considered to be good while "porn companies" (whatever that means) are considered to be bad?

These two groups are being presented as mortal enemies & they aren't

Our sex negative culture influences analysis on the sex industry.

Think of the adult entertainment industry as you would any other business.
It's part of a growing trend toward monopoly, data collection, gig economy, & hyper production & scarcity for workers
For the most part, you are an independent contractor in the adult entertainment industry.
Even if you're a contract worker for like Wicked, Vivid, or Digital Playground, it's more stable but still blurry on employment status.
X videos, Amazon, YouTube, Airbnb, MindGeek, Uber, OnlyFans, Food Apps are part of the same thing.

Big Tech destroying & controlling the real estate, taxi, food, porn, retail, media market.

Erasing workers, and putting more responsibility on them.
They sell the idea that they're merely a tech company, a tech service, a video sharing platform. And by NOT treating the people they profit from as employees, they are liberating them. This does many things, but I'll mention a few overall things.
It shifts the responsibility to meet regulations, laws, safety requirements, & taxes onto the independent contractors, sellers, etc.

They don't abide by the same rules, regulations, safety protocols as traditional businesses. They take over the market after they destroyed it
This creates a monopolized and ever expanding gig economy, a more precarious workforce.

Many people don't have the traditional boss/employee relationship anymore. & you have an algorithm that finds new ways to get you to work more for less, & new ways to steal from you.
One of the mistakes some leftists make is on relying on 1800s old capitalism to analyze modern day capitalism.
We have fissured workplaces now, multiple outsourced bosses/ management/etc., outsourced testing for drugs, and STIs, new methods of survillance and control
For instance Prop 60, that would introduce a mandatory condom law doesn't address that workers have multiple employers, or that clip makers, webcam models, NSFW onlyfans creators are also considered Porn Producers.
We should question whether workers should have to prove they were directly injured or become sick on the job to get benefits.
Maybe explore workers creating their own policies, networks, regulations. Or shift it to the state giving everyone healthcare instead of thru employers

Porn Work: Adult Film at the Point of Production
I'm also uncomfortable with the idea that porn *used to be* dominated by wealthy men, and now cause of tech platforms like onlyfans, manyvids, cam sites (largely run by men) somehow workers/women rule the industry now.
While I understand that sites like YouTube, Discord, Cam sites, Clip sites, have created a rise in more personal and non corporate media, & video production you wouldn't have had otherwise, this isn't exactly liberation or for the benefit of the workers.
I personally think this has led to a greater consolidation of power for people at the top, under the illusion of "empowerment", and "community". Workers are more alienated, survillanced, and separated from each other. It makes it harder to organize together.
