Currently rewatching Murder, She Wrote every night before bed and the cameos/guest stars are too good not to share. A thread is in order. On tonight’s ep (S2E3): LUCILLE BLUTH! Jessica Walter plays a bitchy soap opera show runner and she is as fierce in 1986 as she ever was
*Angela Lansbury voice* Previously on Murder, She Wrote: Dean Jones (star of many 1960s Disney classics like The Love Bug, Blackbeard and That Darn Cat), in an EXCELLENT episode featuring a great dog who inherits a fortune and gets framed for murder (S1E6)
I howled when I spotted this one: a young JOAQUIN PHOENIX! Credited in the episode as Leaf Phoenix, the name he apparently picked for himself as a child actor, which just adds to the fun. Acting alongside his actual sister, Summer Phoenix (S1E9)
More as I spot them, I still have 11 seasons to go!
Tonight’s episode (S2E5) didn’t feature a guest star...but do 2 Angela Lansburys count? In this “London-set” ep, Jessica comes the aid of her British vaudeville singer cousin Emma. A delight of an episode (clearly shot in a Californian backlot, unconvincingly doubling for London)
Laugh all you want at my #MurderSheWroteRewatch but who’s been spending 30 quid for the past few years in Urban Outfitters to buy shitty Casio watches as worn here by Sheriff Amos Tupper? Not me!
