A question was asked: "How to overcome triggers?" To answer that question first we need to understand what triggers are. Triggers are automatic reactions to ego based programming/conditioning.
Ego based consciousness and societal conditioning go hand in hand as societal conditioning is ego-based for the most part. Social conditioning strengthens our egos.
The first step to overcoming triggers is to become aware of them. It happens when we have introspection right after being triggered. The second step is to learn to observe ourselves and our reactions.
This takes time as it requires developing a special state of consciousness that allows to see ourselves from a third person perspective. It is a state of consciousness that we may enter into after years of meditation. (That's how long it took for me...)
To completely get rid ourselves of triggers requires rewiring of our brains. We are consciousness and our consciousness is filtered through our brains and nervous system. The neural connections in our brains reflect our state of consciousness.
Someone who runs on love and peace has a brain that is wired differently than someone's who runs on fear and negativity. Whenever we react with love, thanks to our brain's neuroplasticity, we build new neural connections. With every new act of love we strengthen them.
With time, the old ego-based neural connections are no longer used and wither away. When that happens, things like unconditional love, forgiveness come very easy and naturally.
To answer the question, it is possible to overcome triggers but it takes time and much work on oneself. Aspects of our own consciousness must be healed and that healing must be reflected in the physical changes in our brains.
That takes time, but is entirely possible if one is determined to do the necessary work.
