Everything skincare in relation to your pubic area!!!
Okay so letâs get to the first topic hair removal. EYE personally and professionally am against shaving especially for my melanated brothers and sisters lmao but in all seriousness. Shaving is very low on the grooming methods I prefer because of how damaging it can be to the skin
Shaving basically using a blade to cut of the surface layer of hair. It causes breakage which damages the integrity of the hair shaft. We HATE breakage in all aspects of life because itâs not a good thing for the hair on your head nor the hair on your coochie

When your hair starts to grow back, especially if you have thick or a curlier hair type since the base of your hair shaft is weakened it started to down DOWNWARD this resulting in an ingrown hair.
Another reason why shaving isnât it is because most people do NOT exfoliate when doing so they think a simple shower and shaving routine is enough. Unfortunately it is not for a lot of people.
If your skin is itchy when it grows back u need to exfoliate and moisturize!!!!

You want to exfoliate your skin to ensure that your hair as it is growing back has NO dead skin, sebum, etc is blocking its exit (your pores)
Thereâs two different exfoliants: chemical & physical- well get back to this.

3rd reason shaving isnât it is because the constant friction and excessive use (most people shave multiple times a week) triggers irritation and ultimately inflammation to the skin. If youâre shaving your bikini areas or underarms- areas that are already prone to friction/heat
Youâre going to either worsen your ingrown hair problem, hyperpigmentation issue, or both. Itâs not a good time and Iâve been there.
People who have larger thighs or chafing issues are also prone to this phenomenon. This treatment is a bit different but exfoliation is still key

Now that we talked about why shaving may not be for you, letâs talk other methods that are much better alternatives!
Alternatives to shaving
:
âąWaxing (Hard Wax)
âą Sugaring
âąLaser Hair Reduction *
*you do have to shave with laser however thatâs a special case and you should just limit how many times you shave before your appt and still exfoliate!

Okay back to exfoliation. I talk about this ALL the time but I love both physical and chemical exfoliation for prepping for hair removal. I use an exfolIting body glove going in the direction of hair growth and @PFBVanishUSA PFB Ultra.
With physical exfoliants you want little to

NO pressure! The texture of the scrub or cloth is already doing that exfoliation for you.
You want to exfoliation 2-3x per week but Iâm bold and may do it a bit more but thatâs bc I know what my skin can handle DO NOT do that unless otherwise instructed by your esthetician.
Now moisturizing your skin post wax or post exfoliation may sound foreign but itâs necessary.
Think about it. Youâre supposed to have body hair. Itâs a protective appendage meaning itâs serves a purpose. If you remove this then you have to do other means to ensure your skin is

PROTECTED still. Thatâs two simple thinks. exfoliate so the hair grows back smoothly and moisturize to help reduce breakage for your wax appt and reduce friction on your exposed skin.
When u do both it wonât hurt as bad trust me youâll be like

Now if youâre like me and are ingrown prone I do like to strictly use humectant based products and then let me natural oils ( I sometime perspire) help me out with sealing it all in. But any unscented moisturizer that you may even use on your face would be a great choice.
