I bought a $10 roll of caution tape, moved a cone, spent 30 minutes in the rain... and already the Crescent Street #bike2QBB lane is safer than it was when someone died here this morning. Make me your @NYC_DOT Commissioner.
Unfathomable why Commissioner @pollytrott wasn't out at this corner tonight looking at the spot on the street where someone died and asking "What tools does @NYC_DOT have to make this spot safer right now? What can we do in the next 24 hours? The next 7 days? Let's do those."
She would've met the victim's friends & brothers in law. She would've learned he was 35 years old & worked every day 4am-10am as a delivery worker. She would've learned that he was a father & a husband. She would've learned the human cost to DOT's worship of Level of Service.
