The Bike Skills Park in @rockwoodpark was built by our members and designed for all ages. These kiddos are out on an unusually mild November day. Get out and enjoy! 2/10
Prior to COVID-19, we host regular group rides, including our very popular Youth and Beginner Wednesday Rides. 3/10
We have fundraised ten of thousand$ to improve Rockwood Park. Our latest project will see $100K invested in the first phase and as much half a million by the end of future phases. 4/10
Trail building and maintenance on the +50km of trails in Rockwood Park is mostly done by our volunteers. We have had as much as 2,100 volunteer-hours in a single year 5/10
When trails aren't designed properly, erosion will quickly turn them to mush. Therefore we have trained dozens people from Greater Saint John on sustainable trail building techniques and practices by working with national leaders such as @IMBACanada 6/10
SJ Cycling led the charge to enact Ellen's Law in 2017 after the tragic death of Ellen Watters. Today, we continue to advocate @Gov_NB to modernize the Motor Vehicle Act, making the rules of the road clearer to follow, educate and enforce. 7/10
We have held countless meetings and surveys with mayors, councilors, MLAs, MPs and other government officials to educate them on the need for safe cycling infrastructure and legislation. 8/10
We work closely with municipalities to make cycling safer. Thanks to your help in August 2020, we collected over 300 letters of support for an active transportation corridor through Saint John utilizing cost effective measures such as road diets and modular concrete curb 9/10
