2/ Standing in solidarity, all pro-democracy legislators resigned in protest. The pan-democratic camp has long faced an imbalance of power in LegCo, where the pro-China camp rubber stamps policies with few obstacles.
3/ This opens the door for the chief executive to disqualify any legislator who does not subscribe to the government's pro-CCP stance and signals a severe deterioration in the democratic participation of the Hong Kong government.
4/ The pro-democracy camp in Hong Kong vowed to continue fighting for the city's democracy from outside of the legislative system. The international community must support them.
