Talk to strangers.

Last year, when I took the bus to work everyday

Usually I would be at the bus stop by myself

But one day there was an older women (70+)

(Thread)
I began asking her questions about what she was doing, how her day was going,

Simple small talk.

The difference is I was genuinely interested in her answers

People can feel that.

She then began telling me her life story
Found out so much about her in about 10 minutes

We grew up around the same area, went to the same high school, and even had relatives from the same areas.

She finished the conversation by telling me
“I wish there were more young people like you, nowadays everyone is attached to their phones and can’t hold conversations”

Everytime I saw her at the bus the following weeks/months

She’d give me a big smile and we’d talk for 5-10 min
It seemed like I genuinely made her day better everytime we talked

I saw a boost in my mood following our conversations as well

So, what’s the point of me telling this story?

People are meant to connect

Not to be closed off in our own worlds
Everyone has a story

You can learn from everybody

You have to power to make someone else’s day

Just by being genuinely interested in what they have to say

“Dont talk to strangers” should only apply to really young children

Once you get older, you need to do the opposite
As always if you liked this thread, a RT would mean a lot to me 🤞🏾

Spread love out here homies,

After all, love always wins. ✌🏾🖤
