Bloomberg poured *half a million dollars* into Oakland school board races this year, but that wasn't enough to beat Mike Hutchinson!

Mike's deep knowledge of the school system, unflagging opposition to systemic racism, school closures & privatization won out

It looks like an anti-privatization landslide as @Mike4Oakland joins Vancedric Williams and Sam Davis in winning seats previously held by anti public education incumbents, and the D7 race goes to instant run-off, with DSA-backed Ben Tapscott just behind the Bloomberg candidate

Oakland schools have suffered a slow crisis of austerity and school closures, which came to a head with last year's teacher's strike. People backed the teachers and they won.

None of the incumbent school board members even tried to run again after that.

This year, Oakland education workers took that support and decided it's time to change management. They backed Mike Hutchinson, and flipped the balance of power on the school board city-wide. This is a huge win for students, teachers, parents, & equitable, great Oakland schools
