There’s a cut and paste tweet going around suggesting that there is a 200% increase in suicide rate.

Every life matters. The lockdown was hard on many people. I’m not suggesting it did not have mental health repercussions. We still have work to do in this area.

I’m only specifically refuting the myth that suicide has increased. The numbers tell us suicide have not increased.
An inaccurate claim that “suicide has increased by 200%” can be thrown around to argue against some important public health measures.

When we make arguments, we need to use facts, not opinions, or worse, myths.
