Tropical Storm #Eta is projected to exit Florida by this afternoon. Over the past week, this storm has caused flooding, storm surge and power outages across our state, but we were prepared.
The State EOC has been activated for #Eta and @FLSERT has coordinated staging more than 100 trucks of food and water, dozens of pumps and generators, and has been in constant communication with county officials – who have no unmet needs at this time.
We have been in contact with @insideFPL and @DukeEnergy – both have restored power to tens of thousands of residents since the first impacts of #Eta began last weekend. As of noon, 29,000 accounts are without power statewide.
Florida’s law enforcement and first responders have also stepped up for this storm, including @SheriffPinellas, which has rescued 33 people from homes and roadways. @MyFWC also has shallow draft vessels, ATVs and four-wheel drive trucks available as needed.
We will continue to work over the next 24 hours to ensure all Floridians impacted by this storm have the resources they need to recover. Please stay safe and listen to all warnings from local safety officials.
