Sending a screenshot is hardly convincing enough as we all have Photoshop. Giving away your bank password is even worse. Turns out, you can do it by doing TLS handshake a bit differently, running it together with the verifier. (we call it a three-party handshake in DECO).
What's better, DECO does **not** change TLS servers at all. That means DECO works with any TLS servers out there.
DECO has lots of applications including data oracles for smart contracts (DECO has been acquired by Chainlink), decentralized identity (eg in CanDID [Oakland'21, https://eprint.iacr.org/2020/934 ]) and more. Check out our paper and blog at https://deco.works !
