@VeeCeeMurphy76 asks a great question. It does seem like some younger Black people are super disrespectful of those before them. Why? While I can't pin it down, Imma attempt to answer this. https://twitter.com/VeeCeeMurphy76/status/1326925116392022018
Historical Detachment/Ignorance:

There is a prevailing thought of "I'm not my ancestors". This reply happens when faced with the option of how to handle racism, injustice, etc. Some young folks forget the cemeteries are lined with the bodies of Black people that fought.
There was no 24-hour news cycle, sundown towns were real, cops/bigots could snatch you up and you'd turn up missing. The threat of imminent harm was an omnipresent danger. No camera phones to document interactions. It was your word vs. theirs. Justice wasn't believing your ass.
There were no safe blue states. If you were an N in LaFollette, TN, you were one in Redmond, WA. Black people had to fight just to live. Hell, we still do. But, back then, according to those that lived it, you were on an island. Help wasn't there. No hashtags.
Garbage Activists: For every actual, hard-working soul out there, a bunch of kinda entitled fake woke people jockey for attention. They build their brand, trying distance themselves. To them, there's nothing lucrative about appreciating the past.
These profits( yep, spelled right) want instantaneous revolution, without the knowledge of how any progress was made.
The disrespect is now an industry.
Are some parents to blame for not drilling this into their kids? Yes. However, did any of us completely listen to our parents? No, responsibility ultimately lies with the individual that chooses this approach.
I've heard younger Black folks complain about crippling student debt and a failing environment. Let me hop in a time machine to the 60s-90s, and tell the Black people in charge to knock it tf off. Oh wait, they were fighting for equality.
Play stupid games and keep trying it with those before you. This quote is true: https://twitter.com/NylaTheMusical/status/1016686852609396737?s=19
