Rohit himself has credited the role that the MI network plays in their success.
He is not at the centre of MI's success. He is just a part of it (and that's one of the biggest plus points of having him as captain - despite being a superstar, he is neither a control freak nor egoistic).
Given how big a player he is now, he can do whatever he want. And teams would be ready to put up with it. That he still doesn't use his power to bend everything the way he wants is a wonderful thing.
