Something that interesting to me is that the Classic formula is the only formula not to get worse entries over time
What I mean is like
Later games fucked over the Adventure formula, Forces fucked over the Boost formula, Advance 2 and 3 are way worse than Advance 1
The Rush games + Colors DS are consistent, but people don't really talk about RA or CDS in the same way they praise the OG Rush

The Classics?
Well many people that aren't hardcore Classic fans can't stand 1 and CD, 3K and Mania are the usual favorites, with 2 in the middle of whether or not someone adores it or fucking hates it.
The general agreement on quality goes up with later major Classic games....

I wouldn't say this is the fault of any particular style, just SEGA being SEGA and half assing shit they used to do at least semi-competently, pissing off previous fans of the style and making those who already don't care for the style...
