There is mathematically no possibility for Trump to win the presidency. He has not conceded. And misinformation is thriving w/ claims that the election was "stolen" from Republicans. Here's a break-down of what to be aware of 1/
Trump's lawsuits, part 1: some seek to invalidate an entire state's results (like PA) on the basis that Trump's campaign observers were prevented from being close enough to poll workers in Philly. The campaign is trying to now nullify the entire state's results. 2/
Trump's lawsuits, part 2: some promote conspiracy theories (like AZ) where a woman claimed she was tricked into using Sharpie on her ballot. DHS, AZ SOS, & Maricopa County Dept of Elections have ALL verified that Sharpie is 100% acceptable for filling out ballots in AZ. 3/
Across the board, Trump lawsuits cast doubt on the electoral process & promote a theory that election was stolen bc of widespread fraud. This is not a partisan issue: both R & D secretaries of states, AGs, & others have stated there is NO evidence of widespread fraud. 4/
2020 is not a close election. Ppl love to compare this to 2000. Sure, let's compare: the FL election that ultimately gave the presidency to Bush was decided by 537 votes. In ALL six key battleground states, Biden leads by over 10K votes. That's AZ, GA, WI, MI, NV, PA. 5/
The problem is that Trump, his lawsuits, & allies don't even have to do all the work now. Our digital structures and the vulnerabilities therein are being leveraged by others -- both those with ill intent & those who actually believe the conspiracy theories. 6/
This means the narrative that Democrats have committed massive, systemic voter fraud has proliferated *so fast*, across languages and jurisdictions, & spilled into real-life protests. But we MUST reaffirm data and scale. 7/
NY Times reported on Nov. 10 that they called election officials in EVERY state who confirmed there was no evidence of fraud. For those instances where people report fraud, we must pause when we see claims online about the theft, stealing, or fraud of this election. 8/
