Not: maybe we haven’t done such a good job selling it. Not: maybe we’ve had some of the worst possible salesmen. Not: maybe update, lose the silly red-meat stuff that we never believed anyway, apply ourselves to the needs of a broader spectrum of voters than just our base…
Instead it’s: toss out our whole governing philosophy, turn ourselves inside out and leave voters with no particular reason to pick us over the other parties, who at least believe what they’re saying.

This isn’t some bold new departure. The Tories are ALWAYS doing this.
Imagine if people in business did this. “We’re not selling enough cars this quarter!” “Yikes! Better get into selling feather dusters!”
