"Why do you seek to kill me?"

The crowd answered, “You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”

- John 7:20
The great indictment of this world is murderous hypocrisy.
Am I being too harsh?
"You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies."
"Beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy." - Lk 12:1
This world is so blinded by hypocrisy that they cannot see their own murderous intentions.

It lurks just beneath the surface of socially acceptable behavior.
Jesus calls out their murderous nature.

And they accuse Him of having a demon.

But who really had the demon?

And all the people answered, “His blood be on us and on our children!” - Mt 27:25
Don't forget for a second the nature of the world to which we are called to bring the Gospel.

It isn't nice.

It is utterly damnable.

The proclamation of the Gospel is a God ordained lifeline from the certainty of the fires of hell.

Fire that is earned is deserved.
A choice faces each and every soul.

To choose to continue in our murderous hypocrisy until cast into outer darkness.

Or to agree with God's assessment of our murderous hypocrisy and repent of sin, trusting fully in the finished work of Christ following Him alone into eternity.
Don't let this world fool you.

Jesus is right.

Those that belong to this world are murderous hypocrites...

even if social norms will obscure this brutal reality from time to time.
"The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil." - John 7:7
