My cousin and her husband, who are in our bubble, showed symptoms of Covid-19. She tried ordering the test kit online but wasn’t successful but her husband managed to oder one because he is an NHS key worker. 1/
The liquid in the test tube thingy leaked out and the cardboard box they’re supposed to send it back in was damp. When her husband tried to do the test anyway the test lid broke when he tried to close it. So they are now going to the drive through testing centre today. 2/
If that fails, they will have to go to a local pharmacy and do it privately at the cost of £130. If they test positive, my family would have to isolate for two weeks too despite not showing symptoms. Meaning my husband can’t go to work for two weeks. 3/
My husband’s been told that he won’t get paid for the two weeks of isolating. If my husband shows any symptoms of Covid, the whole bakery where he works at will have to shut for two weeks meaning his colleagues too won’t get paid for two weeks. 4/
I’m guessing my son would have to skip nursery for two weeks too? This will be so hard on all of us being stuck indoor in a flat especially because as a toddler he needs the social contact and outdoor physical activities. 5/
The costs of this track and trace shambles are paid using taxpayers money. Your money, my money, OUR money. 6/6
