We don't have langkah bendul. But the bridesmaid sis is always the groom's sis n you have to give a saree. The bride's brother on the other hand gets a gold ring coz he has to wash the groom's feet as a groomsman. https://twitter.com/keemmazni/status/1326793763134590976
My mom gave me a budget. I topped up the rest. 😂 So my saree was grander than the bride. Not my fault. We asked her to choose the same Kanchipuram. But she choose a rangoli. Mom n I were so unsatisfied with it, we bought her another saree to wear to the dinner 2 days before 😬
We are wedding tyrants. I literally told ppl they better dress up when we invited them. N ppl who turned up to the house, were told to change to any of our sarees. Coz we didn't like theirs. 😂 Mom even did last min blouse alteration for a few.
Ppl occasionally borrow our sarees n jewellery for their own functions. We were always giving ppl. We always got things back. That's y I was shocked when I lent to friends n they 'lost' it. Such a shock given that never happened in my small town
