I find it very hard to believe that anyone would leave a faith they were completely sold-out on and unwaveringly devoted to because they love their sin more. Especially when the core belief of said faith is the concept of grace, and forgiveness of sin.
Perhaps the reason why #deconstruction is the fastest growing movement within Christianity is because we love Jesus so much that we’re not willing to settle for a religion that is no longer exemplary of His character.
Or it could be because of the simple fact that the American Church has been twisted into a Nationalist nightmare that values a red, white, and blue flag more than the hearts of the people they’re meant to be serving.
Regardless, people don’t leave their faith because they want sin. There’s too much sin IN the church for that to be the case. People leave because they want to be authentic. We want the real Jesus, and if you won’t give us that, there’s no reason to stay.
