St. John’s council has a committee of the whole meeting tomorrow looking at the summer pedestrian mall. Spoiler alert a lot of people loved it. 98% of the public said do it again, it was rated 4.5/5. I can’t remember a government doing something new that had such high support

I thought more business in the pedestrian mall were going to complain about losing parking in front of their businesses. Nope they loved it too 4.3/5

Businesses outside the pedestrian mall were less supportive, a lot of them wanted their area included as well, their parking filled up with people headed to the mall. 67% still said the city should consider doing it again

Interesting stat, 82% of people said their experience with the mall would increase the likelihood of shopping/dining downtown in the future
