Premier Daniel Andrews has weighed in on the division in federal Labor over climate policy: "I don't agree with some of the commentary that's come out of Canberra the last few days about various groups in the community that used to be with us and now they aren't."
"This notion that people in hi-vis don't vote for our side of politics - that's just wrong. Absolutely wrong. What you've got to do is have a progressive agenda, a logical agenda and a plan to get things done," the premier says.
"Every job is important but so is being honest about the fact that the world is changing. There's an awful lot of jobs in alternative forms of energy," he says.
"We've got to get out there and be frank and honest with people. Climate change is real, carbon emissions are real. The notion that you can pretend that that isn't a fact is not leadership," he says.
