I literally stood over a table in Detroit observing the ballot count side-by-side with a republican observer who, along with more than a hundred other republican observers, challenged every ballot counted for no reason for 16 hours straight. by late in the afternoon there were so many observers credentialed to be in the room that they stopped letting in ALL new observers, regardless of your party because the room was at capacity and republicans had started getting extremely aggressive with ballot counters and staff.
anecdotally, i left around 1am when they had finished counting and were starting the "closing" process, and when I asked the republican observer at my table if she was going to leave, she told me she'd stay until the morning. and she did, with dozens of republicans and democrats.
