friendly reminder that you dont have to rake the leaves - in fact, itâs much better if you donât. leaf litter is where many forest critters lay their eggs and shelter themselves for the winter, and is a valuable food source for shredders which in turn keep the soil healthy
Millions of years of evolution know whatâs best for the land and its creatures than a bunch of 18th century europeans who wanted everywhere to look like a Scottish golf course. We donât need to try to change the circle of life & seasons. Nature knows what itâs doing :)
Leaves wouldnât fall if it didnât serve a purpose.
Please consider not raking the leaves and sending them off in plastic bags to decompose in a landfill or burn up in a bonfire this year
