friendly reminder that you dont have to rake the leaves - in fact, it’s much better if you don’t. leaf litter is where many forest critters lay their eggs and shelter themselves for the winter, and is a valuable food source for shredders which in turn keep the soil healthy

Millions of years of evolution know what’s best for the land and its creatures than a bunch of 18th century europeans who wanted everywhere to look like a Scottish golf course. We don’t need to try to change the circle of life & seasons. Nature knows what it’s doing :)

Leaves wouldn’t fall if it didn’t serve a purpose.

Please consider not raking the leaves and sending them off in plastic bags to decompose in a landfill or burn up in a bonfire this year
