Pharmacists, doctors, and healthcare companies cause structural Karen-ism—if you don’t complain they de prioritize you behind people who do, and dog forbid you ever end up in the hospital ER alone with no one to advocate for you like i have several times
Even when my conditions were less serious, if I had a relative or partner with me, everything goes very smoothly & they’re neither callous nor do they mess things up. When I’ve been in ERs with life threatening situations but alone, it was like being in a torture chamber
They’d miss or skip my doses of pain medication, make me see 30 doctors before i got something when i couldn’t breathe, would not answer for hours, would ignore medical contraindications, sometimes not even tell me basic diagnostic or treatment info
Compounded by the intense isolation, anxiety, tension, loneliness & humiliation of a medical admittance situation, writhing in horrible pain & having some smug MD sociopath laugh at you, when I told my professor at the time who studied torture he was like yeah that’s qualifies lol
But even on a more quotidian & everyday scale, fuck the pharmacy too. There’s two pharmacists at the place I go to who look out for me and the rest are humongous assholes lol
Been filling a necessary script there every 4 weeks on the same day for the last 39 months. One pharmacist tries to make sure to pre order it. This time they say it’s out of stock, I get not one but three notices saying they are ordering it & should fill it today.
I call today and they said no one put in the order and i would have to wait until Monday. I pointed out that i received several notifications about it & they said that “well you didn’t call & demand you needed it today”
Excuse me I didn’t call to complain yesterday about a necessary medication I’ve gotten every 4 weeks on the same day for more than 3 years, after receiving several notifications telling me you ordered it for the next day. I didn’t realize that was a necessary part of protocol.
I’d like to think it’s accidental, but honestly, there are some pharmacists there who are like religious Christians, disdainful of certain medications & disregard customers below a certain age who aren’t a certain profile.
And it’s not like i have a choice bc the other pharmacy in the area is even worse lol. At least with this one, if I luck out with 1 or both of 2 people, I’ll almost always have any issue cleared up within 24 hours, sometimes before i even knew i had one.
One of the pharmacists at one of these places called one of my providers to tell them about something else a different provider prescribed me, except it wasn’t contraindicated, & I didn’t sign a release for sharing between those docs or pharmacies.
It happened again later w/ a new provider—they actually phoned on speaker in front of me to fill the script & the pharmacist told him & he was like:
“A. I don’t care, it’s irrelevant bc it’s not contraindicated & B. He didn’t sign a release so you can’t even tell me that” lol
Doctors, & pharmacists, like lawyers, therapists, politicians & professors, are interesting bc if they don’t know you, let alone don’t like you, they can be horrible, but if they like you & advocate for you they’re some of the best allies you can have on your side lol
Honestly that’s basically the main appeal of being rich lol—above a certain amount of money, it doesn’t really do much for you besides maybe security, saving for the future, & relative status
then you get to a level of money where you have a personal lawyer(s) Doctor, dentist, nurse, pharmacist, driver, assistant(s), secretary, chef, tailor, congressman, cleaner, nanny, accountant, banker, despotic Junta, pilot, massage therapist, hitman,PR firm, etc on call 24/7
Jobs like politician, High level bureaucrat, dictator, aristocrat, monarch, starred military officer, church hierarch, court advisor etc are nice bc you get all those things but don’t even have to be a billionaire
In they heyday of civil service, & of European social democracies, this is kind of what tenure, or union protection, or 20 years at a salaried job, or bureaucrat, was on a micro much less exorbitant level.
Now the closest equivalent is doing 20-25 years as a cop, teacher, soldier, etc, let alone if you did multiple lol—could you imagine a cop who was also a substitute teacher, volunteer firefighter & in the military reserves lol
Anyway the pt is:
1. Fuck the healthcare system
2. Fuck the petty kings of smallest castles
3. The system encourages Karen-ing on a structural level
4. Being super wealthy or powerful is nice cus of the services
5. Professional class jobs used to kinda be like that on smol scale
