Everyone needs to reject the idea that selecting electors is, in any way, in state legislatures' hands at this point. It is not. The electors in every state have already been selected by the voters - we are just waiting to find out, in a few states, what that choice was.
Sure, state legislatures could declare a different slate of electors to be the real electors. So could I. It doesn't mean it would have any legal authority or weight. In every state, electors are chosen by popular vote. The vote has been held. The electors have been chosen. Fin.
