You may have seen me mention crypto art & might not know what I’m on about..put simply, it uses the blockchain to verify & rarify digital art .. it authenticates it, indelibly - they’re then sold just like paintings or prints .. mine are sold here: https://knownorigin.io/griff
You can right click any image & save it to your desktop, but that image has no value.. crypto art has value because it’s rarity (eg 1/1 or 1/25) & authenticity are recorded in the blockchain .. this is exciting for the likes of me for a couple of reasons -
For one thing, I can now display my personal work for sale, giving it the potential for some revenue it didn’t have sitting in a folder on a hard drive.. more than that tho, because it’s digital it can move.. and have sound
..and so I can experiment with the work I love doing (3D, animation, music, soundscapes, space stuff) .. this makes me happy
What’s cool about it for collectors is that they can own a rare piece of work that has the potential to increase in value like a painting.. & even better (I think) they can own an animation.. I don’t think you could own an animation like owning a painting before 
It’s all still quite new.. most people in it are just finding their feet.. I’ve been lucky to have the support of a great platform in @KnownOrigin_io (shout out to @selfmadeheroes ) but it is still very much an oscillating learning curve
I’m also lucky to have a crew of friends who have all started at the same time - @Signalnoise @GenuineHumanArt @SkinnerCreative @JamFactory @bloodychrome - all on the same oscillating path & all of whom are creating some incredible work while navigating it .. mutual support

One more thing.. if you are an artist looking to get into crypto art, don’t be distracted by other work going for ridiculous money.. That way madness lies... keep the head down, do your own thing and view any sale as a bonus :)
