just completely oblivious to the fact that the category of "the people" is carefully constructed by nazis and other nationalists like trump to exclude groups deemed to be "undesirable", foreign, the Other: whether they be jews, roma, lgbtq, communists, trade-unionists, immigrants
but then also, something only candace owens can accomplish, going to the next step of absurdity by arguing that as long as one genocides anyone not included in one's selective conception of *the people* that's totally fine: non-german jews who ended up in the holocaust? who cares
