I think publishers need to step up. Nothing exists in a vacuum, we live in a society where 60% of parents don't want their kids in classrooms with ND children. Disability unemployment is in the 90%.

I am weary. I see the same tired stories about autistic people being churned out each year, with NT authors, and they make shallow claims of representation then go to their award ceremonies and forget all about us.
The underrepresented need to be in the room and on the page.

I won't go anywhere in this industry unless I can take my community with me. And that's a battle sometimes.
Employ disabled people. Let them be open about it. Meet their needs. Then find some of the many kickass ND writers out there, not the same old stories.
