This WAR is too personal for me as it is for everyone.

1. My sister won't be able to buy a bread or feed her kids because she can't have access to her BANK account; every branch is closed to starve people to DEATH
2. My mom who needs medical check-up is not getting it because there's no electricity. Her life is in their hands. I lost my dad & my sister while abroad for school & God forbid I might never see her again. The trauma is hard to explain. No sleep for 40+ hrs & still counting.
3. My brother who lives far away from home is/will be probably incarcerated in one of their internment camps because of the last name or birthplace on his ID. What will they do to him, my friends all over Ethiopia & those like them? I don't wanna think about it
4. They might become victims of the airstrikes if it goes on. Imagine waking up every morning & picking up your phone to check which city is bombed. But because there's no NETWORK, there's no way to know anything about casualties. I always assume the worst when it comes to family
5. If I had made a visit back home, I wouldn't have been allowed to board on a plane & get back to the US to complete my studies, because you know why. Think about it, I mean really think about it. It's happening to my friends.
These are the things on my head when I #SayNoToWarEthiopia. But you keep on telling me that it's a surgical operation on a party! I have been blinded by too much fun & love on the surface that I never thought this amount of hate existed. It's mind-boggling!
But as the saying goes, freedom isn't free. We did pay too much for it before; it's just that I was born into peace that I took it for granted. However, the scars are still fresh on the flesh and minds of our families. For many, this is the third time. 40s, 80s and now.
It seems like people are determined to do it again as the other alternative is living in disgrace under a Neo Derg aka Abiy, an entity with an ideology that despises & contradicts their very existence. I mean, count the injustices for the past 2yrs & what's happening now.
A person who once told you he/she doesn't drink milk on Fridays because he/she is a devout christian feels offended because you openly express these worries. How ironic and hypocrite. What would you say if your mama lives in a city which is now a war-zone?
To some, acquiring a barren land they never visited before or don't even roughly know where it's located takes the utmost priority. I kid you not, some even wanna see you unbothered. The biggest disappointments come from people you called friends for years.
For some, Ethiopia is just the rivers & mountains. You’d hear them bullshitting about their love for Adwa & Axum, next line spewing hate on the residents of these very places. The madness continues! You see the toxic side of people during hard times like this.
Instead of being compassionate, they put salt in your wounds and say nonsensical things on matters they know nothing about or have never read a single page on. BUT, you also see the ones with the biggest heart❤️❤️❤️ I advise fellas not to engage with those devoid of an sympathy.
Regardless of the outcome of this war, once these genocidal & treasonous acts are over, the kids in Alamata & Badme who’re being bombarded by Ethiopian MiGs Eritrean Army will forever remain stateless in their hearts & minds! You can never forget or forgive betrayals of such kind
And Abiy knows it, but he doesn’t care because it all about vengeance, revenge and power; not about uniting the country.

LAST ADVICE: NEVER believe any of the WHITE LIES Abiy, his media or cronies spread. It's all a tactic! https://twitter.com/MarioEthio/status/1326562302389219328?s=20
