A thread *statistically* comparing Mason Mount to other CM's/No 8's in the PL and seeing where he ranks amongst them.

In this thread I will be comparing 10 CM/No 8's in the PL and see how Mount compares when he plays CM.
The CMs I'll be comparing are Mount, Maddison, Kovacic, Tielemans, Wijnaldum, Neves, Gundogan, Moutinho, Henderson and Ward-Prowse.

I will compare these midfielders across 5 different categories, and I will rank them for each category. If they come 1st they get 10pts, 2nd 9pts,...10th 1pt.
Then I will add all the points up for each player and rank who is the best overall.

These stats are all P90 stats and from the PL. If there are other stats that I could add or use instead for future threads.
Plus if you don't like stats stop reading as that's what I will use to compare all these players.

1) Tackles/Intercpetions & Tackles Won:
In this Category Mount ranks one of the lowest with only 2.2 Tackles/Intercpetions p90 and 54% Tackles won.
But in recent matches Mount has been improving in this aspect.
Henderson, Kovacic and Ward-Prowse dominate this category.

Mount ranks one of the lowest again winning 49% ground duels, 29% Aerials.
But again in recent matches Mount has been improving in this aspect.
Henderson & Tielemans dominate this category. Kovacic is 1st for ground duels but poor in the air.

Mount ranks 3rd in his involvement in buildup with 0.34 xGBuildup90 and 0.55 xGChain90, which is clear to see when you watch him dropping deep and helping Chelsea progress the ball.
Gundagon by far is clear of the rest, with Henderson clear in second too.

Mount ranks 4th in his creativity, creating 0.25 Big Chances p90 and 0.15 xA p90, which is very good but can improve for sure once he continues playing as a CM consistently

Mount ranks 2nd in dribbling, completing 1.3 dribbles at 65%. This shows how comfortable he his in carrying the ball, and how is dribbling is underrated.
Kovacic is clear of everyone when it comes to dribbling which ain't a shock.

Mount ranks 3rd in possession, completing 89% of passes and 81% long balls. His passing is so good and his long ball accuracy and passes into the final 1/3 is top tier.

Mount ranks 1st in being the most direct player, having 1.1 shots on target and having 0.19 xG, showing his eager to score goals and get in the box.
Also with better players around Mount his quanitity/qaulity of shots are going to improve too.

Even though Mount ranked 2nd, if he improves his defending, which will when he plays more at CM, and if his finishing improves he can easily be the best CM out of the current options, and he's only 21.
