As a veteran, I always appreciate it when people say “thank you” to veterans on this day.

But I also encourage them to say “Never Forget.”
When you say “Never Forget” to a veteran, you are implying that, as an American, you are in it with them. Connected together as grateful Americans who will never forget the sacrifices made by veterans past and present, and their families, especially.
As veterans, we know what we signed up for. It was not a “service” in the traditional sense of the word… but rather an honor.
An honor to serve the country we love. An honor to bring the fight to our enemies abroad, so they never bring the fight to our fellow Americans here at home.
An honor to wear the uniform and stand shoulder-to-shoulder with our friends – some of whom never made it home – to defend the freedom and way of life we are blessed with as Americans.
So, here’s the message to share if you know a veteran or meet one today: Never Forget.
