Exciting announcement coming from @DKElections very shortly...
Oklahoma just certified its results—a very important step. We only calculate this data after we have official results, because the numbers can and do change. That's just one of many difficulties we face with this project, which we explain in detail here https://dkel.ec/38yMNJt
In fact, if you've ever wondered why presidential results by district aren't immediately available (a very good question!), check out the post above for a complete explanation. The bottom line is, most states don't provide it themselves, so we have to jump through many hoops
Now, back to Oklahoma! Trump unsurprisingly won 4 of the state's 5 districts with 60%+. In the more competitive OKC-based 5th District, he won 52-46—considerably smaller than his 53-40 win in 2016, but not enough to save Democratic Rep. Kendra Horn https://dkel.ec/2Ukp7QB
Except for special elections, these districts won't get used again. However, knowing their presidential performance is key for measuring how maps change after redistricting next year, and how much partisan gerrymandering we're seeing
