With the P**ud Buoys pulling the mask off today to reveal their white nationalist leanings...I feel the need to say that everyone who's been following this group since 2016 has known this all along. The fact that Fox, Rogan, and the GOP has humored these guys is appalling. https://twitter.com/SethCotlar/status/1317859206964203520
In regard to the recent developments in the group. https://twitter.com/IwriteOK/status/1326021172065021954?s=20
In 2018 the Oregon GOP hosted Roger Stone at their Dorchester Convention in Salem. After his keynote, he hung out in the hotel bar with a group of P**ud Buoys. This was back in the days when Alex Jones still had a Twitter account.
This is the group that Trump told to stand back and stand by.
I mean, who could have seen this coming? https://twitter.com/SethCotlar/status/1312175544117600257?s=20
This was published on January 30, 2017. None of this has ever been that complicated or nuanced. We've let a bunch of white jokesters like McInnes gull most of the nation's white people into shrugging off his puckishly articulated fascism as "free speech." https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2017/02/06/trump-supporters-at-the-deploraball
It's important to note that mainstream GOP outlets like Fox played a key role in normalizing the PB's.
None of this has ever been remotely funny. https://twitter.com/thesoapbox/status/1326294821246480384
For those interested in the PNW context, the white nationalist (Chapman) who has taken over the PB's worked for many years in collaboration with J0ey Gibs0n, the head of Patriot Prayer--a group depicted on conservative media as "a Christian organization." https://sfist.com/2017/09/26/trying_to_catch_milos_wake_patriot/
The right wing activist who was shot and killed in Portland recently during the protests was wearing a Patriot Prayer hat and was affiliated with the group. The Oregon PBs now wear shirts with that person's name on them (and Kyle R's).
