I have some tips for people who feel overwhelmed with the amount of work/tasks they have.

*a thread*
1. Make a list.

Yes, mf. Sit down and write it down. All of it. Every piece. Every part.

If your list looks long and impossible to tackle, don’t feel defeated.

Seeing everything u have to do can help u maintain a less-occupied mind and crossing things off is SO SATISFYING.
2. Work in blocks.

Personally, I set the timer for an hour.
Boom—for an hour, ima clean xyz.

Boom, the next hour, I edit a book.

Boom, the next hour is relaxing.

Don’t overwhelm yourself with too much at once.

**make sure you pencil in some REST.
3. Make realistic “deadlines”

Last week, I tried to thoroughly clean my entire apartment &spring clean in 2 days. Impossible.

Now I’ve given myself til December.
Seems far off, I know, but it’s likely I’ll be done b4 Dec 1st.

Realistic deadlines makes the process easier.
4. Remain consistent

If you have hella shit to do, you’ll wanna just put everything off or remove some things from your list so you finish faster.

Nah, bro. Keep working and pacing yourself until it’s ALL done.

Nothing left behind. You’ll feel so much better.
5. Limit distractions

Some of my tasks take more time/focus than others.

Instead of working with a TV show/movie in the background, I’ll put on a music playlist.

Listening to music is less distracting to me Bc I don’t have to pay attn to plot, captions, & such.
6. Give yourself incentive

A lil boost never hurt anyone.

For instance, I would tell myself I can’t leisurely shop/order an item until I finish xyz.

Work hard, play hard right? Lol
I’m one of those people who will shut down when I feel overwhelmed by the THOUGHT of what I have to do.

I fight that by making sure I follow these steps WHILE maintaining patience with myself + the process.

We can’t be everything for everyone, all the time.
