There's certain DJs who simply stand out above the rest in this culture. Dude was a sonic artist, in the truest sense of the word. He did things in his mixes & on the turntables that were completely unique and repeatedly mind-blowing...

...the wordplay, the imagination, the elite range of skill. The level of influence he had on the culture is immeasurable and should forever be revered. Mixtape dweebs like myself owe him a massive debt of gratitude. I know he had a rough run the last couple years...

...but he was always such a humble and gracious dude -- always showing love to his fellow DJs and scene as a whole. It's hard to write things like this and I feel like we're losing so many of our heroes too often but we must always remember to keep him/them in our hearts...
