Really interesting discussion about memory, commemoration and consolation and can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of @DrAliceKelly new study ‘Commemorative Modernisms’. Love the fact it moves across genres, forms and questions the presence of ghosts. #FWW
Also found Dr Kelly’s comments about whether to include women’s writing in the title particularly interesting — the division of writing by gender in relation WW1 texts continues to puzzle my own research.
The discussions has helped me to think through some of the questions I’ve been having about how to structure my own work. Dr Kelly’s thoughts of the pandemic and WW1 commemoration/memorialisation were really thought provoking. Congratulations @DrAliceKelly!
