While we’re at it today, it is worth emphasizing that *compassion* is at the core of the newly revised UBCV academic concessions policy. Students, you are not obligated to present a doctors note to verify your illness. Professors, you should not be asking.
Also: departmental leadership - stop framing academic concessions as a “privilege”, when this is in direct contrast to the values presented within the academic concessions policy.
**** to be super clear, if you’re experiencing long term health issues with dedicated care that have made you require multiple concessions, you may be asked to provide documentation/directed to the CfA for long term support+options.
But for a bad flu or COVID, absolutely not.
