Let's talk about making better decisions using stoicism

What does the even mean?

///THREAD///
In many people's day-to-day lives during turbulent times

They go looking for answers to their questions and for some comfort

Many people will use religion or other spiritual books

I use philosophy and in particular, Stoicism, to help me make better decisions in life
Stoicism is an emotion-processing tool and way of thinking

It can help you make better decisions

Regulate your emotions, plan for the future

And deal with the ups and downs of life

Here are three quotes that support my points...
“If you live in harmony with nature you will never be poor; if you live according to what others think, you will never be rich.”

― Seneca

Seneca telling us to live in harmony with our current environments and ignore the often distracting noises in society
“It's not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.”

― Epictetus

It is extremely important to only control what you can control and that's
your actions

It sounds simple but with practice, this idea can lead to stronger decisions more regularly
“If it is not right do not do it; if it is not true do not say it.”

― Marcus Aurelius

Pretty straight forward this one, if it's not right why would you do
it, if it's not true why would you say it

If that does not help you make decisions you might be lost
Life can be very fast at times and you can get dragged along making decisions
that you may not be aware that you're making

However, if you sit down and think about Stoicism and think about these quotes they can really help you make better decisions...
To live in harmony with your environments

- To control what you can control

- Not saying things that aren't true

- Building this resilience can be tough

It takes many hours of mental training in the gym of life

Keep doing the reps to build your resilience
Through Stoicism, I've been able to develop my life

I've been able to climb to that next level

By thinking about the quotes from Seneca, Marcus Aurelius, and Epictetus

I have developed decision-making processes that have allowed me to succeed...
Because Stoicism tells you to slow down, think about what's right, and think about the decisions you're making.
